It was great because it was just a small group of us and Naseem the instructor. She was wonderful. There, patient and helpful and provided great instruction and guidance. I would love to have another class or classes with her specifically in watercolor.

Title or Location: Under the Sea
Interesting enough, this picture of a Sea Turtle was given to me about 5 years ago, from my good friend, while I was living in Colorado. She had taken the photo of a sea turtle while she had been on vacation in Belize. It was just a sea turtle, and I just filled in the rest. Funny, I had tried many, many times to do this picture before, and I could never get it right. I also have many other paintings, as well as Charcoal paintings too

Title or Location: New Mexico Eclipse
This piece was created on an antique ledger logbook page. Using Prisma colored pencils and Micron pen. The piece measures 12 1/4 ? 16 1/2 inches. I found inspiration for this piece through the wildlife of New Mexico. The roadrunner being the state bird and a neighbor to many that live in New Mexico. For those that do not have the pleasure to live here may not see the bird comfortable in its own environment. I very much admire the roadrunner for being a survivor of the desert able to a

Title or Location: The Guardian
This oil is 20x24 on stretched canvas. I employed several photos to create this art. I love to bring out the colors of the evening or sunrise. The glorious shades of light caught at a glimpse of the moment brings magic to the creation! Here is a young buck investigating the cove for safety before he brings the herd in for the night. His predecessor had just been shot and he now reigns over the herd. He is a young buck ready to prove he can protect the gift of leadership. It is a blessi

Title or Location: Pine River, Vallecito, Colorado
I painted this recently from a photo I took during a Friends Weekend several years ago. We stopped our bicycles on the bridge and snapped a few photos. The icy cold water was a brilliant blue from the mineral content. The Pine River flows into Vallecito Lake near Bayfield and Durango.

The clothing items I used for this still life came from my closet. I was thinking about how life is more than what we wear and how it is more important that we are clothed in kindness, strength, and humility.

Oils on 56cm x 46cm canvas. Large for me!A larger canvas really does provide a wonderful opportunity to dive into the textures and subtleties of the lion cub's fur, and those expressive little details?like the way its eyes catch the light. Oils allows you to layer and blend, giving more depth and ability to play with the softness of the fur.
